Renovation is Underway at this 25 acre Historic Site. The Bard Distillery, a Destination Craft Distillery, located in Muhlenberg County is perfectly positioned just off the Western Kentucky Parkway and minutes from the I-69 Corridor.
The Bard Distillery was founded by Thomas Bard, the 4th generation grandson of the founder of Bardstown, Kentucky. Bardstown is well known as “The Bourbon Capitol of the World”. This project is currently underway on the historic Graham School site located just off of the Western Kentucky Parkway in Graham. The 25 acre facility will be a tourism destination, wedding/event center, and conference center, with ample room for retail shops, restaurants and further expansion. The facility was constructed in the 1920’s and includes three expansive brick structures which are currently being renovated and re-purposed. The site is nestled on a hillside watching over it’s community. The Bard Distillery will bring much needed economic development to the area which is best known for it’s musical heritage and coal mining.
The global popularity of Craft Spirits is the driver for our market. Distilleries are now a major tourist attraction for travelers, with many from around the world following the Kentucky Bourbon and Craft Tours. The Bard Distillery will provide unique craft spirits that will be distributed globally, with the United States, Asia and Australia being the initial target markets. These spirits will include un-aged spirits, whiskey, and top shelf bourbon. The ability to produce many other spirits, including gin and vodka, will provide versatility depending on specific market trends. The distillery itself will be a tourism destination along the I-69 corridor, with tremendous traffic volume converging close by as the interstate meets the Western Kentucky Parkway and the Pennyrile Parkway. The Event Venue and Conference Center will serve businesses and community members in the Western Kentucky area by providing much needed large capacity facility rental. Bookings and Reservations are already being scheduled for 2019.
There are two distilleries approximately forty miles away in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. However, these two distilleries have limited space and do not export their products.
The Bard Distillery is currently seeking a lead investor. Thomas Bard and Kim Bard are currently majority owners.
